in my whore-ish habits of riding every board and binding i can get my hands on, i just rode the transcend with the cwb boss boots. i just thought i'd throw up a thread about this stuff because its new and you dont really ever hear anyone talk about it.

i cant give a really thorough break down of the equipment jumalian style because i was really sore and didnt feel like pushing myself. snowboarding the previous day really kicked my ass.

transend=big pop. it has over 3 inches of rocker and it definitely popped me higher than any other board ive ridden in awhile. the pop is silky smooth like a continuous pop, and nothing like you would get from a board like a parks or any other 3 stage. it was slow, but that is to be expected from any board with a large amount of rocker because it will sit lower into the water.

it was nice and loose, similar to my nelson. the fin placement is actually very similar and the molded channels are somewhat similar as well. it reacted very similar on the cuts, same with in the flats and on the lip of the wake when i was just messin around with it. it was a bit more stable on the landings because it has more defined/deeper channels, but not too much. it was overall a pretty loose board considering how low it rides in the water.

overall i definitely liked the transcend and i'll probably ride it again. i would definitely recommend this board to others, and if you can demo, it dont pass it up.

the boss bindings are pretty nice as well. very nice footbed and an overlay that allows a lot of ankle movement. if you like less support and more tweakability i would give those a ride. most importantly, there were NO pressure points of any kind and i had brand new bindings cranked down hard on my feet. i was definitely liking that, and i'll be checking them out again soon hopefully.

Good to hear it! It is pretty strange riding brand new bindings and having them comfy out of the box. They will get even better when broken in.

Cameron, because of the large rocker, ollies are more pronounced.

The big thing with the Transcend is the pop. Huge pop, low bucking factor, unlike a certain pro model ridden by scragally haired white boy from Orlando who doesn't change his boardshorts - ever.

Mike.H, 2005.

cRaZyMo, they retail for about $385. If you shop around, I'm sure that number could get closer to $300.

Sounds like a board I would like... I currently ride the Absolute Plat. However, sitting low in the water tends to wear my fat ass out. This would be my only concern.

Churchy scott hopkins recently went from the absolut plat to the transcend and LOVES it hasnt looked back yet, i recently had a chance to ride the board and was impressed, i am more for speed and ride a TFD but if you like the absolut this is a board for you, as for the Bss bindings i just recently traded my LF Ultras for the Boss and i love it, it is alittle tight in the toe region but other than that. I am not a fan of CWB but for a overall setup i give it an 9 out of 10
