I'm interested in seeing these. My Jeep is getting a 4" suspension lift and a 2" body lift on it in 3 weeks. Its gettin 33's put on it, so i'll post pics when its done. Lets see everyone else's though

hey, what kind of jeep do you have? with 4" of suspension and 2" of body, you should be able to fit 35" tires under there. i got 31" under my dads completely stock 98 TJ.

here's a pic of my first truck. it was a 76 dodge power wagon with a 4" suspension and 3" body lift. 38" super swampers. the engine was a mopar "b" block bored .030 over and decked, had a 440 crank, ported and polished heads, 9.5:1 forged pistons, balanced and blueprinted. never dynoed but it would light up all 4 tires in 4-high. edelbrock performer intake, holley 750 double-pumper carb, mopar performance cam, hedman 1 7/8" primary headers, dual 2.5" flowmasters with no smog pumps or cats. dana 60s front and rear, np 205 t-case, detroit lockers. umm thats all i can think of for now but i know there's more.

for the exterior i had it painted then put rhino-lining along the bottom. that's what the darker bottom part is.

this picture was taken after my dad sold the truck to one of his friends. i did not put the chrome roll-bar on. he has since added bucket seats and a system inside.

oh yeah it also had an on board, belt driven, air compressor.

i agree. me and my dad did evrything to my first truck except painting it. i did all the body work and sanding though. i bought it for $2,000 when i was 14. it was the biggest piece when i got it.

ok, im a moron, it says what kind of jeep you have RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE... geeze, i should get glasses. but i still think you could fit 35" underneath...

I have a 94 wrangler with the 4.0L engine. I know i could fit 35's but honestly i don't want them on my jeep. probably 75% of the time it will be on the road so gas mileage is still a factor driving to and from college. and my jeep only has a Dana 35 axle. its not strong enough to run 35's off road and i don't need to be breaking any axles on the trail

well those are some pretty dandy reasons, haha. i guess 33's are the way to go then. but why would you put so much lift on? i can see the 4" susp. but why the 2" body?
breaking axles sucks

for suspension flex clearance, so that the tires do not rub but so much in the wheel wells

this is my friends jeep. this is what i mean by suspension flex. by the way this jeep has 5.5" rockcrawler lift, 2" body lift, and 35" MT/R's not bad eh?

I've got a Red 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 Step-Side. It has the front torsion bars cranked to even it out with the back... 35" Wrangler MT/R's (very good tire)... 15% tint all the way around. In the future, I plan to put a good Flowmaster on it... a Westin-Modular Grille Gaurd with 4 lights in the middle... and MAYBE a roll bar with lights going across it. Oh yeah... I can't post any pics because I don't have a digital camera or a scanner. I also plan to invest in both of those in the near future.

Why would you put a flowmaster on it? Unless you're into that mellow sound with no lope you get from a stock cam and catalytic converters that's about the only advantage. i doubt if it will increase your power or hardly reduce back pressure unless you take off the converter.

taking off the converter i wouldn't reccomend. not that i'm into tree hugging but it is there for a reason.

tim- how do you like your truck with the 35s? i almost put some on mine over christmas break but i didnt like the road walking i got with the 38s on my old truck. can you tell much of a difference in the steering?

Wes-what kind of truck you got now?

I got a 89 toyota off road edition. It has i belive 33's, brand new clutch, trans, and a rebuilt engine 20,000km ago. Last night it just turned over to 300,000 km. In the summer me and my dad are giving it dual exhaust, 4 inch suspension, and 2 in ch body lift, and 35's. Its kinda funny but when i bought it it cost me 2 grand. The my dad was driving it and got hit at 35 mph from behind when he was stopped. All that happned was my trailer hitch got bent. BHut the body shop got me a new tailgate, box, door and front pannel. The insurance paid it all. So it is almost a new truck.

this is a horrible pic. it looks much better in real life.
I get a lot of looks with the 18"s on a offroad truck.

Not really into big rims... but that's still a nice truck!

Wes - i like a little bit of a growl... could really care less about the "performance" part... i just like the sound of 'em. I might put a K&N Filter on it though. Wink

Sean- now i have a 2000 dodge ram 2500 4x4 with the cummins 24 valve turbo-diesel. So far i have added straight pipe exhaust (just a hollow pipe, no muffler, resinator, or converter) a 70hp/170 ft lb. fuel injection timing chip, k&n filter (dont think it does anything) and modified the waste gate valve on the turbo. I have a 40 psi boost guage and it will peg at full throttle.

if you count exterior stuff as mods i have custom bumbers front and rear, nerf bars, 285/75 (33 in) tires, weather guard toolbox and that's about it.

it came stock with a dana 60 front axle and a dana 80 rear and nv4500hd transmission so i dont see any need to modify those.

here is a picture. it's pretty crappy pic and the truck hasn't been washed in a while so i'll try to get a better one soon.

Nice trucks fellas....

Mine isn't lifted, I just can't justify the cost for this lil blvd mudder Laughing

But, it's a '96 Z-71, 32" KO's, true duals w/ glass packs, K&N, AirBag helpers in the rear that lift the back when pumped up and eliminate sag when towing, 5th wheel, tonneau cover, tint, sounds, etc, etc...

sean- I dont think it's legal to get straight pipes on gasoline powered cars in most states. As for cost it all depends on what you get. Banks sells a 4" stainless steel exhaust pipe for cummins for $659. If you dont want their dynaflow muffler it's like $50 cheaper. Banks is probably high-end, you can probably get an identical system for around $450. I think there are 5" systems out now for cummins too. Not sure what they cost though. The main reason for the straight pipes on diesels is it reduces back-pressure and lowers egt's. It sounds pretty good too.

If you just want a straight pipe for sound you can just have the muffler and catalytic converter cut out and straight pipe welded back in. You could probably find a muffler shop to do it for like $60-70. Make sure it's legal in your area before you have it done though or make sure you know someone that will pass your truck for inspection.

Wes, if you're not happy with the K&N, I'd recommend a TYMAR setup - this guy puts together a huge cylindrical NON-oiled filter that'll last about a year (filters cost about $20) that flows considerably more air with less restriction than others out there. It also filters down to a smaller particle size than oiled filters typically do. Email me if you want some more info. You could easily put one together yourself also with a few parts from a local autoparts store (I did).

The 35"s are nice. My wife and I are very comfortable driving it and haven't noticed any major walking/drifting issues from stock. The added height isn't that sever compared to going with 38"s - I've driven a Ford SD with 36"x14(?) and it was much worse.

I'm considering an exhaust upgrade soon (I hope) - either a straight pipe (sounds great with Cummins, not sold on PSD), or 3.5" downpipe, 5" exhaust/muffler. Make it sound more like a big rig! Very Happy
