I know wood rots in the water so what do you use to prevent the wood from getting messed up?

well if you use green pressure treated wood it will stand up alot longer than regular wood. wood doesnt rot as quick as some may think it does. by the time it starts to rot you'll alrady be sick of the slider and youll want to be building something more interesting. another alternatie would be to just throw a coat of thompsons water sealer over it. its not gonna rot out in a summer unless its soaked continuously in water. if you just plan on taking it in and out then theres not worry.
