Macromedia flash

hey guys. i just recently got macromedia flash 2004. tonight i tried making an animation and id say it was alright for a first haha. well i wanted to try and put it online to show my friends/ask for advide on here and it will not let me upload beacuse the file type is .swf. Do i have to upload this in the media section or how do i do this?

go to www.100free.com its a free host site. it gives you 100 free MB of space and unlimited bandwidth. or just start an account on Geocities. and upload it to that.

JamesWatts, does that site let you upload .swf files? i guess that is flashes movie file type.

Elevation, I use a site called www.1asphost.com , It allows me to upload my .swf files to It and It's free. I'd recommend It If you just want to use it to upload some things to It.

Elevation, Post some of your vids once you make them. I always like to watch others people work. I'll post up some of mine tomorrow. I'm fairly new also, I just started at the start of the school year (August for me)...

DavidHoff, i was thinking i would post some videos on that site last night to show some of my friends online but i still havent received a confirmation email. usually it takes a matter of minutes, oh well. ill for sure post some stuff.

also, i figured out how to export them as other types of files such as a .gif. cant i post those on here?

Elevation, I like It, Its funny, and pretty good. I have been doing Flash for about 3 months now, and I'm still not that good at It. Laughing

One thing though, try slowing It down just a bit (spreading out the keyframes).

DavidHoff, i like that. man for two minutes that is really good IMO ha. i like how you made the smoke/breath into words, pretty sweet. im stilling messing around trying to learn new things.

this is the only thing i have made worth while, flash is annoying, maybe cause i taught it to myself...and i cant really use it though...lol

JamesWatts, how did you get it to do stuff when you move the mouse over it instead of a video type thing?

Elevation, flash is actually rather complicated to start with. The way I learned was to go to the bookstore and pick up a book on how to learn flash.. the ones with the most pictures helped me the most. If you don't want to spend any money and learn I would look for online tutorials. The problem with these tutorials is they usually don't go into as much detail and can leave you stranded.

To do a mouse over you have to learn about buttons, and symbols first.
