|
|
So I got my new video camera and just took some video around the house to experiment with getting it onto my computer. For some reason when I go to send the video it says that the camera is not connected. I can send pictures to the computer with no problem....just not video. Anybody have a clue why???
I have the USB Drivers installed so thats not it... it won't work with the program Sony gave me, or Windows Movie Maker (those are the only 2 programs I have right now to capture video). |

| I am using the USB, I dont have a Firewire yet. I am using Windows XP, and when I plug in the camera it knows it's there. When I open the software and use the send video function that part of it says the camera is not connected... but when I use the send picture function it works fine. Do I need a firewire for this to work? |

| usb does not work for uploading video. The usb connection will only upload your pictures. You need firewire to import your video. |

| Ok thanks guys....while I am asking questions though, is a Firewire something I can get away with cheapin out on. They had some for like $30 all the way up to $100. Is the difference really that big between cheap and expensive? |

i purchased a compusa brand card for $20 and thus far, it's worked flawlessly. there are potential problems going with a generic card if you run win2k, but xp shouldn't present a problem.
i have, however, heard of problems with the belkin cards. YMMV. |
