they're one of those bate and switch companies or whatever they are called. where they will say the item is out of stock untill you order over priced accessories.

Yes, be very careful with any shops in NY offering great prices. They're notorious for being scam artists.

If you want to shop NY I reccomend B & H Camera or Adorama. There are others that are good, but I don't know who they are. B&H is especially awesome, if you're ever in Manhatten I suggest a visit, Costco for photo video equipment.

The other thing about NYC electronics shops is if you are there in person they are all over the place, at least 1 on every block in Midtown. They eill have cameras in the mindows at unbelievable prices but they don't come with anything just the camera and you have to buy all the accesories. Evil or Very Mad

If you want excellent customer service and the ability to talk to a sales person who knows what they are talking about (these guys are filming and editing while not working) contact www.EVSOnline.com. If you're a CA resident there's a video production tax form that you can fill out to reduce your tax to 3%. Basically you'll get a very competitive price with what the out-of-state shops (NY, etc) are offering.

If you're interested in the Panasonics (pro-sumer models) ask for Rush (@ EVS).

I've purchased quite a few things from B&H and they have good prices, but when it comes time to talk to sales person I compare it with Frys. Yeah there is someone there, but how competent they are is another question...
