K-dub is right... don't ride it but that is a great deal... splits run about $170 and motives run about $200... so that is just an awesome deal... _________________ Support your local boardshop...

splits are not bad bindings they are supposedly lower end bindings..but I do not think that they feel that way. my friend used to ride them _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

i have tried them... they feel pretty elementary... cuz i ride era's though... the heel bumps in era's are nice... what the splits lack... but the splits are comfortable and the 2 velcro straps are nice? _________________ Support your local boardshop...

Hey fergie23,
It's a great board, as they say - just ride...you'll know when you need new equipment...for now, that board'll take you way far...

I use to ride a 134 Motive. It was called a belmont then. Landed my first invert on it!! Very easy to ride. _________________ www.slobgear.com

| motive/belmonts are awesome! they can last you a long time definatly, you could demo it but if i was really shopping for a board i might consider that deal, its a nice price |

Fergie23,
I ride a Motive 140 w/splits. Solid board that tracks very well. Won't give the same lift as a 3-stage rocker board but great all around setup.

Bought this exact setup this past summer, my first board/binding purchase. Board is flawless and a great board to learn on due to its forgiving nature. Only issue I had was with the bindings, and it was minor. I (and 2-3 friends that I ride with) had a very hard time keeping the top strap closed. It is velcro, but it is too short to really "lock" in place, and as soon as I started to get pulled from a start position, the strap would release. Once undone it was still rideable, it just felt like I had too much room in the binding and the fit was no longer snug and responsiveness suffered. But for a novice, this likely made very little difference in my riding.......just my $0.02.
If you look at the '05 Hyperlite State bindings, the style is almost identocail to the '04 Split, but the top strap is configured differently, and looks to be more robust.
Hope this helps in your decision.
Cheers-
