Alrite, so I currently have a DRebel with the kit 18-55 lens and a shoddy 75-300 UMS III lens. I'm looking at upgrading before summertime - I want to get the 70-200 F4 and 17-40 F4 for sure, and would really like to get the 20D as well (but that's not too realistic at this point). I figure by the time I'm done upgrading, I'll be in the hole about $4000 CDN (if I were to get the 20D), which I really can't afford at this point (university student, money is really tight).

I'm definitely going to at least upgrade my glass and pick up a waterproof housing, but as far as the camera goes - should I stick with the Rebel or trade it for a 10D (they seem to be going at about the same price now). I've got some connections and have a good chance to get shots published in SBC Wakeboard (Canada's mag), so that's the key thing to consider. Obviously, if I can find the money I'll go with the 20D, but if you had to choose between keeping the Rebel and going to the 10D, what would you decide? (I'm leaning towards the 10D)

Or another option which I'm not too keen about - switching to Nikon and going for the D70. I don't like this as much 'cause of the more expensive glass and there really isn't a "well priced" upgrade from it (unless they come out with a match for the 20D, which they probably will).

If I were you i'd stick with the DR and save the money to get the 20D.
I'm trying to save for those same two lenses too.
