|
|
Just started boarding this summer. My nemesis has been HS FS 360 (that's the only one i've attempted so far). I just can't seem to get the handle pass behind my back. I've made the full rotation, but get all off balance since the rope is either wrapped or just lost all together. I don't know if it's concentration or what.
Any thoughts? |

bring the handle to your following hip. that way it is already halfway around to being passed once you leave the wake. _________________

| Thanks, that sounds so simple. Hopefully I'll get one more chance to be on the water before the long, cold winter. |

| Dont start to rotate your 360 until you have completely popped off the wake. wait till your about to the peak of your jump and pull the handle hard into your back hip this will alow slack in the rope and allow you to pass the handle. I think the reason why your going off axis is because your starting your spin to early and that will through you off axis wrong. |

chipsevila, Just got my 3's down this summer. You definately don't want to start your rotation untill you are at the peak of your jump. Most likely this will be about halfway across the wake. This will allow for a little slack in the rope.
A technique that taught me how hard to pull the handle once in the air was getting in between wakes behind the boat and pulling the handle hard to my lower back. Then feeling the tug from the boat once the slack comes out. The slack in the rope should touch the water... this is how hard you should pull in the air. Plus if you do it a couple of times before you try a 3, it helps to get the motion down of pulling the handle to your lower back.... Probably not for everyone, but it definately helped me...Just my 2 pennies... _________________ My boat don't run on THANX |

That's an interesting technique, trammill, I'll give it a try...in a couple months! I guess what I was doing was rotating without pulling the handle hard toward my back hip. I think that is why I kept rotating and couldn't reach the rope when half way around. Sometimes I would land it, but have no rope!!
Thanks a bunch, can't wait to get back out there. I live vicariously through this website and everyone's adventures. Bring on the Spring! |
