| the whole key to off axis spins either ts or hs is pausing off the wake. other than that, after you wait for the pause dip ur shoulder down and try and sit on the handle. good luck |

| Can you land consistent fs 3's with a good clean handle pass? The handle goes behind your butt, whereas on a backroll the handle stays at your stomach, Im confused how you dont pass the handle if you are saying your attempts end up being like a r2r. |

your problem is that you are edging away like you would on a back roll to initiate the off-axis part of the spin. hold the egde up the wake right untill the top then flaten off and pull the handle down into your rear hip with both hands. pull the rope into your hip just before your board leaves the water. this will lighten the tension load in the line making it easy to pass the handl and will initiate your spin off axis. Also try using a short progressive edge instead of a longer one. start your cut no more then 12 feet outisde the wake. Just remmeber you have to create the same edge you would for a normal wake jump in much less time. If done properly you will generate a lot more straight up pop, with much less line tension. The rotation will feel cleaner and the handle pass will be easier.
just think: 1. short strong progressive edge
2. flaten off at top of wake
3. pull both hands down and into your rear hip just as you are flattening off and leaving the water |

Start with TS 5's they are the easiest of all OFFAxis spins IMO.
If you really want to learn them you should be able to land regular TS and HS 3s proficiently. hint, hint... _________________ PEACE

TS Off 5's are effortless. I really pause off the top of the wake and look at the boat before I initiate the spin. Looking at the boat causes your body to get in the right position and after that it's a simple handle pass.
HS Off 3's require a little more effort. I pause off the top of the wake and go up and over the handle which will make you float and the handle pass will be right there. |

| It sounds like you're on the right track, but one other thing. If you're flipping too much, think about keeping your head up, looking at the horizon. Best of luck! |
