I just bought a new digital camera. But the program that came with it su--'s for changing pics around. Can any one give advise on a program? Making photo albums, change file size for e-mail and changing pic ie cliping a new head on. I don't need the best just one for my personal use. beasoldierprstn, yeah it's expensive but you can get an education version for like $100 I think. It shouldn't cost a teacher or student much to pick it up. If you buy it at a store I think it might be like $500.
Most people don't pay it though. They get all their money from corporate liscenses. It's a good racket actually. Let individual users use it for free (not technically but they're not really trying to stop pirating of photoshop) and then when these people work for a company they need photoshop so the company has to get a liscense. If your company has unliscensed software it costs them thousands of dollars for each copy that doesn't have a liscense. |

| htownbdr, at least I was consistent. "Liscense" still looks right but I'll take your word for it. |

Adobe Photoshop Elements is going to be a better option. For resizing images, doing batch processing and stuff like that, I reccomend Irfanview. Best, free, simple program for image manipulation out there.

You can always find the newest version of photoshop on any torrent website. Or pretty much any other program for that matter.

Get Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8.0. It is less expensive and very easy to learn. _________________ My opinion is my opinion!

photoshop is OVERKILL for what you want to do.
google just purchased picasa, which should handle everything but the editing: http://www.picasa.com/content/download.php ~4MB
if you're actually rearranging heads often go with paint shop pro; simple and effective.
if you need to make the rearranged heads look professional, go with photoshop, but expect to put in a few hours figuring out how to do it. |

| Adobe offers a much cheaper alternative to Photoshop CS - Photoshop Elements. They just released Elements 3.0 and it's nice. It has most of the features of CS including RAW conversion, plus it comes with album/organizing software. List price is only $99 and you can find it cheaper, including educational versions if you're a student or know one. |
