Is anyone entering the VAS/wakeboard Mag Contest?

I was just curious... I also just read the rules and found out that we'll will only get to see the finalits, which kinda upset me... I was hoping to have a couple hundred 1 minute videos to watch online in a few weeks and would like to see what kind of cool effects and editing people are coming up with. Any thoughts?

I am curious to know as well. I know there are alot of good video editors on this site, so I will be curious to see who makes it onto the next round. It would also be cool if some people would put their videos out on this site so that we can see what the entered.

I have entered the contest. I to would like to see what my compitition is like. I know mine and my friends boarding skills arnt the best, but i think my filming is prety good, and my editing is even better. look out justin and joey, Patrick is commin through.

which contest are you guys talking about? is this the one that you submit a video and they pick the winner and give them some money to make a dvd and then that company has rights to distribute that dvd?

im not going to enter the contest, but there were some guys at the irvine PWT with a camera and they shot some riders for their video they were gonna submit...

i THINK dpc films might have submitted his shaun murray video he posted here, but im not sure if that happened or not...

The Murray video was submitted. Supposedly they're picking the finalist this week....

Any one heard anything else on the contest, i submited an entry to and i'm startin to get pissed cause they are takin so long to post the finalest's. I'm wondering how many people actually entered too? I don't think it was to much but it could have been. I have a few of my earlier videos on my website NDCproductions.tripod.com if yall wanted to see em. My most recent stuff is all slider videos. I'll try and post my entry on this website.

I'd submit mine, but since I used a yellowcard song, I wonder if I'm infringing on copyrights since I obviously didn't get a license to use it...?

I guess everyone does, but I figured that if the record companies saw you winning contests with their songs, they might get pissed. Especially considering their temprements in the past couple of years. Maybe the use of the songs in this contest constitutes "personal use" so its ok...

89comp, this would only happen if yellowcard went online and watched your video and saw it was a winner and had there song in it, and that they cared. highly unlikely, i wouldnt worry.

DC, ive seen that video 2 or 3 times before and its just as good each time. awesome vid. that laid out raley was insane. i really like some of those tweaked out 180s with style too.

Actually, I called them yesterday because I had a question about the contest and I talked with Brian. He answered my question and then told me I just saved him a phone call and there were 7 or 8 finalists selected on Tuesday and that he was calling everybody today (Thursday)

Yea, I've seen your video before man... that's some amazing editing. I've always been impressed with that one everytime I've watched it. Were they cool with it being over 3 minutes?

Shaun was suppossed to be in Havoc, as well until he got hurt.

WakeboardNebraska - Congrats and thanks! There's actually a funny/sad (depending on how you look at it) story behind my submission. The night before leaving for Worlds I was rushing to make some finishing touches to the Murray video (because VAS originally called for a 60 secs piece and it ended perfectly with Shaun landing the toe side 7...) Anyways, I went to render the video, came back a few minutes later, clicked on the timeline, and POOOF.. all the video disappeared... Basically my disk raid crashed and the whole project was gone! I spent the next 2 hours looking for a backup copy of the original edit and finally found one. At that point it was 3 a.m., I had a flight to catch in a few hours so I just transferred it to tape and submitted it. Without the credits it's 3 minutes so we'll see...
