if im not mistaken, it will help in 2 ways....
better bass response
as well as improved power handling (less distortion)
what it does is it makes the speaker think it is in a bigger box than it actually is, which improves the low tones.
correct me if im wrong tho... _________________ dream like you will live forever, but live like you will die today |

haha dp's got an airy box, j/k
you can use a whole heap of things, if your making a box for subs, theres this tar like product that dries really hard, it does improve the sound heaps. my bro just built a box for his rockford fosgate 15inch and he put the sub in to test before the tar was dry, it didn't sound that good cos the box was flexing a bit and he didn't have his port in it. but when the tar dried and the port was in it sounded noticably better

wakebrdr190, is right it makes your speaker think that the box is bigger and it keps down harmonic resonance, you mainly use it if you've cheated your box size a little. It doesn't work if the box is ported only sealed. Poly fill or pillow stuffing as you called it is the same thing it's less than a buck a bag at Wally World. Don't just use anything though some item such as cotton or fiberglass insulation break down due to the vibration and air movement and then the particles get in the oice coil and can seize it.
DP you don't have anything in your box but air because we made it to match your head (OOPS sorry that just slipped out don't kill me) actually your box is pretty much dead on to specs so i felt no need for Poly fill _________________ Shane Cook
