It shouldn't take too long to learn. Just really concentrate on building up your edge slowly. Do you have any videos? If you post them, we could see where you're going wrong.
What's the fin setup on your board? Riding finless for a couple runs really helps you learn how to do a progressive edge. |

The key is when you turn back into the wake. You need to make a slow and relaxed turn with no sudden edge changes, and you should feel the tension build on the rope. Then slowly cut in towards the wake in a solid position. As you leave the wake push the handle down and your hips up.
It took me a fair bit of practice to get the rythm right, and even after one season can still not get it perfect every time. You just gotta keep it relaxed and smooth. |

A HS backroll will teach you the progressive edge no the 360...
More people flatten out at the wake than they realize. most people start out too far.
Start closer into the wake so you have no choice but to load the line more at the wake in order to clear both. _________________ PEACE

On thing that really helped me was a line from higher education where they said that the progressive edge means a progressive force on the board, NOT a progressive angle of the board to the water.
Set your angle, and hold that angle no matter what. You should slingshot through the wake. |
