wake board pylon, what do I need to know

Much to my dismay, it doesn't look like I'll be able to afford a tower this season. I spoke to my local shop about a pylon and they said I needed to know the diameter for the existing ski pylon? I thought they were all the same. I'm looking for one that fits over the existing one. Are they all standard? I have a 1993 Tige 2000 SLM COMP.

I think they are all pretty close. With my Skylon they have different colored plastic mesh sheaths (huh huh I said sheath) that go around the existing pylon depending on what type of boat you have. Different colors are different thicknesses and make up for the differences in diameter.

THanks... I called Big Air pylons, and Tige's use a 2.5" ski pylon.
