The seats are removable and came with the boat, I love that idea especially the one behind the driver seat, that adds an extra seat for the inboards,

How long have they been making the "Sun Kicker", or did you just put the graphics on there yourself......If so its nice.
Hows the wake on it?

they started making the sunkicker in 2001, The graphics where put on by malibu, I think they don't make the sunkicker anymore, they just call it the wakesetter, I had the wedge down a 600 ballast along with a half filled fat seat and a tube sac and the wake was great

| Sweet boat!! Have you tried to use those board racks on the bow grab rail yet? I don't have a tower and Ive thought about trying racks like that.

The board rack works pretty good, but you have to put them in a place where people want lean on them, I used to have it on the back and people would use the boards in the rack as a hand rail and would end up knocking the it loose, but where it is at is a good position now and I love having it and will probably install some more on the tower,

My sunkicker is a little more than 21 ft long, and after you add the teak deck it is a little over 22 ft long, I don't think it is smaller than the wakesetter, might have a different hull compared to a more recent model like 2002 or 2003,

superlift97,
Nice boat. I have a 00 Sunsetter/sunkicker. goto www.malibuboatowners.com
Also goto http://www.malibuboatowners.com/gallery/view_album.php?_albumNam
e=Jimmys-Creek to see some pics of my boat.
I installed some tweeters by the 6 1/2" speakers in the dash on the plastic air induction vents. I also installed speakers in the coaming pads right behind the driver's seat and by the passenger's seat. You can feel behind the coaming pad and see that the holes are already cut. You may have had speakers there on your old bu. I had them in my 95 Echelon. The factory doesn't put them there AFAIK but they still cut the holes. You will have to take off the whole coaming pad and cut the vinyl to install speakers. My bad I'm pretty sure you can install them without removing the coaming pad. I had to remove my pads to replace the stock rear speakers.
Enjoy your ride!

Mine didn't have the pre-cut for 6 1/2's I don't know why behing the drives seat or next to the passenger's, I put 2 subs in it and tower speakers, looking for more places might put towers speakers up top point them forward for the bow riders

Congratulations on your new Kicker superlift! For those that are curious, the SunKicker was a package added to the Sunsetter in 2001. It basically consisted of the Wedge, MLS, tower, Launch seats and special graphics. It was the same boat as the Wakesetter of 2000, and in 2002 was again renamed the Wakesetter. It's a great solid boat that throws a very decent wake. Great find on that boat with so few hours.
The factory no longer cuts the coaming panels as all speaker installations have been moved to the dash. There is a thead on MBO right now about adding bow speakers to a boat that does not have recesses like the newer 21' and 23' models. Check it out for more ideas.
