Did anybody get surgery for this? Because I'm wondering if I'll be in shape to go to TWC in 1 month or should I cancel my trip? That would piss me off cuz lots of people I go with are cool! (well, not lots, all of em! Surprised )

Having surgery really is a pain in the ass...

My sister was fine 2 weeks after surgery, but then again she was 6 at the time. I think it has a lot to do with age (younger = faster recovery).

1)it all depends on the way they do the surgery
Open 4-6 wks
Laprascopically 2-3 wks
2) depends how bad is your appendicitis
3) and age is a factor

I'd still keep the plans. I had mine out two years ago, was pretty bad off, but got back riding 2 weeks later, and came away with a great scar!

My Friends appendix ruptured. He spend 22 days in the hospital, lost 40 pounds, and had to have 3 additional surgrys. It was NO FUN. They cut all of his ab muscles and he is really weak, so no wakeboarding for him for a while. But i heard the surgry isant that bad if they catch it before it ruptures.

If it ruptured, like mine did, and they do have to go in, the biggest pain is the ab muscles, they take a while to heal. You've just got to knwo how far you can push the abs within a month, don't want them to tear again, and make things worse.

mine ruptured in november and i was back at work 3 days later. THEN, about a week later, my right leg started killing me and i could'nt walk. i had to go back to the hospital and when they did x-rays, they found that the peritonitis from my appendix rupture had somehow gotten into my hip joint. that jacked me up for weeks.

Nope... my appendix didnt rupture, lucky me... If it had, I would've had drains in my stomach and I probably would still be in the hospital. My ab muscles are seeming to heal very well, I was able to rise from my bed "sit-up style" and it didnt hurt "too much"... As soon as it stops hurting, I'm gonna train like crazy to be top-shape in a month...

Thanks for all your advice guys!
