484 boards looking sick

Did anyone get to check out the new Line of 484 wakeskates? The Line is looking sick this year.

Several little changes and a lot of different models to make a complete line of 05 skates.

They also have the only wood skate with channels on the bottom. That thing is going to be insane.

Is it just me, or do the 484 skates look a lot like the HL Catalyst ones? They look awesome, but they look a LOT like the HL IMO...

Maestro, the channel does look alike but its not like hyperlite could do anything about it due to the different material, or could they?

Maestro, i dont think it is the eaxact same shape. what i was saying though is if it was the exact same shape, would hyperlite be able to sue them even if the material was different. Plus why would 484 do that and get busted. anyway, looks like a sweet board.

I'm not suggesting Hyperlite sue 484 - you can't really put a patent on a wakeskate shape, unless it's something totally revolutionary. And so many designs have been 'stolen' by one company or another in wakeboarding's history that I don't think companies are worried about getting 'busted'....

true, i guess you really couldnt patent a design. patents are pretty specific anyway, a company could just change one detail and be fine. oh well, i think the new 484 looks really cool.

the 484 and the hyperlite are different because the 484 has three chanels on the nose and 3 on the tail, there is the main chanel in the middle and two chanels on eather side of it next to the edge
