What do you think I should do if I would like to do photography on a pro scale later on? Do you know of any colleges that are more majored in it, or should just about every college have that course? I was planning on going to appalachien state university over here in NC, but I didnt know if there was a specialize school, that maybe I should change it up some. All I can do for now is keep taking pictures, and get better and better.
Any info would be nice. Smile

If it were me I would get a good degree in business. While doing that I would try to find a job working with a photographer that works with what you think you would like to work with. There are many photographers out there that are great but never make it because they don’t know how to run a business.

If you really want to go to a photography school send Mike Isler a pm. He went around and checked a few out and I'm sure he would be more than happy to lead you in the right direction. I think Garrett Cortese on here went to a photography school too and he may be able to help you out some.

pyrocasto, I'd be happy to talk to you about photography as a profession, as well as schools for it.

I've been at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara for 2 years now, and can answer a lot of questions for you.

Mike

Yeah I was thinking the same thing backsplit.
Get a business and marketing degree, and maybe take some classes for photography, but I didnt know if it would be better to go to college, and then photography school, or just college.

Thanks Mike, I'll PM you on aim and see if you have a few. Smile
