High pole speaker mounting question

Anyone have any good ideas on how to mount speakers (in PVC piping) to a my high pole? The only thought I've had so far is to drill a hole through the high pole and also through both the speaker enclosures and thread a metal rod through it all, if you know what I mean.

This is what I mean O-||-O with the two speakers on each side, the pole between them (duh) and a rod sticking it all together (shish kebab style).
