| Today was a day ill probably never forget, the students of my school (Ithaca High School) planned to become part of this nation wide protest "Books Not Bombs" (my school is FULL of hippies) and at 10:20 about 800 of the i think 1700 kids in my school went out into the big courtyard in the middle setup a table speakers and a mic and had an incredibly big protest. Then in came the the 50 or so Hicks and dumbasses who had no idea there was going to be a war but when they heard about the protest decided that they would protest the protest. So they get WAR ON IRAQ signs my favorites being "Nuke their ass, Steal their gas" and "Will trade Iraqi blood for oil", and they start screaming BOMB IRAQ! Now i personally am neutral and just walked around on both sides. The plan was to walk down to the commons (about 2 miles away) and protest there. The cops came blockaded the entrance to the school and wouldnt let anyone out. They stopped at the blockade for about an hour and then it just suddenly stopped. It was honestly one of the funniest things that ive ever seen, because i know 95% of the people that were there were either there because its a reason to skip class, or just to piss people off. Anyone that has been to Ithaca knows its all about diversity and its an incredibly strange town, but damn i never thought anything this big would happen. |

Wow, C3...sounds like an experience!
My parents have told me of some strange things that happened at that school in the late 60's. I can just imagine how wierd that school has become. |
