|
|
Hi Chaps,
I am busy "redoing" my setup, boat, board, binding, pylon and rope.
My wake is about 2ft and pylon <6ft on boat, my weight is 190lbs, 6ft.
I need assistance with
rocker types. ie three stage or continous
which is better for pop/height.
and
Rope
what should I look for when purchasing a rope and why, what is the dynamics behind a standard slalom rope and a wakeboarding rope?
Hope u can help

all wake ropes are adjustable usually form 75 down to 55 or around there.
if ur wake is 2 feet than thats huge!!!
and if you want a lot of pop, get a 3 stage. _________________ Wake Forest University |

| You want to get a no stretch rope. That helps to keep you with the boat with your handle at all times. NO POLY-E!!!! |

Hey balti,
Like ben746, says, you want a no-stretch rope - Spectra is what to look for as well as a higher price.
Your wake sounds fine, practice your technique - start with smaller jumps, just cutting out a bit, then get the sequence of edging, holding that edge, standing tall and getting the handle into your waste down on the small jumps - it'll feel right when it happens for you...a shorter rope length will help...once that's good just start going bigger but keep the "basics" of good technique...
I think you'll find a 3-stage will send you more UP than out...

Some people say a 3 stage rocker gives you more pop and other feel differently. It all depends on your technique and how you edge to the wake, and stand tall at the top of the wake. Some also say that a 3 stage is harder to land. It's all personal preference.
Start witha shorter rope length until you are continuously landing w2w in the flats. It's ideal to land on the downside of the opposite wake because it's a softer landing and easier on your body, especially your knees.
Look in the classified section for ropes. Several people have zero stretch ropes for sale.....around $50 shipped. _________________ So, I've got that goin' for me...which is nice! |
