CD player problem

I have a kenwood removable face cd deck..... the radio plays fine

the deck will not recognize the CD..... during the winter the face was off when we picked it up... also the cover got ripped so there was some ice on the cd player. I just tried it this week and it will not play any cds. It says there is a cd in it but it cant read them. When i hit random play it will search forever because it cant read it.

some solutions would be very helpfull. thanks

Maybe try unplugging the thing and plugging it back in, might reset the memory or something. Besides that, I'm pretty clueless about fixing a CD player.

I would take it out and have a local stereo shop clean it or try a disc lens cleaner.

i was thinking aobut a disk cleaner too
