I have never really attempted photography before, I usually just mess around with my family's crummy digital camera, but after reading the photography article, I'm going for it! I'm going to hit the pawnshops soon looking for the cheapest SLR film camera I can find. If I develop all the film with picture CDs, am I going to get similar quality pictures as those Digital SLRs or is the Digital SLR the only way to go for getting good pics online? I just bought a new wakeboard and bindings, so I'm broke out the ass at the moment. Any advice in first camera selection or things to look for would be great! Thanks!

you can actually scan a photo at a really high resolution to achieve a very high quality digital pic. Many photo labs will develop your picture and give you a picture cd also, but the quality is usually pretty crappy

NickCanCountTo13, no you wont get simualr results unfortunantly. the picture cd's are limited on size. You would be better off getting film and scanning it, or the picture itself i think.
But slr's are awesome and I'm going to start again mesing around with mine.

we just bought a film scanner for our SLR's..you just scan the negatives. its 4000dpi its really nice..WAY better than the picture Cd's you get from the developing place.
