Does anyone know how to send large files over the internet. If I want to send my buddy decent quality wakeboard movies and stuff, is there a good way to do it?
The file sixes are too big for email and IM transfering, I was wondering if there is a good way to di it without burning cds and shipping them back and forth. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You most likely have FTP space from your Internet Service Provider. Call them up and find out how to use it, that's what you want.

also download winrar this utility will allows you to retain your their actual size and able to email. It zips the file and chops it up as requested.

An FTP site is also a good idea for on demand transfer.
If you are running XP you can run a simple FTP site. However if you have a router you will need to port map it to the FTP host.

It's simple,
control panel/ add & remove prgrams/ click on ADD/Remove Components/ You will select IIS click on details disable everything that is selected then check FTP and it will automatically add the files needed.
Then do an update on the operating system.

Then create a folder that will contain the data you want to share. We will call it Pictures.

Right click on my computer / manage /services and applications/ FTP site/
Right click on "Default FTp Site" click on Properties. The IP Address should be the same as your PC you have a drop down menu Unassigned or 192.168.XXX.XXX choose the numbered one.

Then click on the HOME Directory Tab and you will see FTP Site directory/ direct it to the Picture folder. Now DO NOT forget to make sure that the WRITE option is unchecked, this will disallow ppl from placing files to your hard drive unless you really trust them.

And there you go now you can host your own FTP site.
"Remember to allow traffic on the XP firewall if its enabled."
Good luck
