|
|
Hey, ive been boarding for a year now, behing a mastercraft 209 with a tower.
One thing I have a problem with is getting good air. The biggest air I can get is around 4-5 feet... and Ive been boarding every weekend since April.
I dont have any kind of weight in the back (its illegal at the lake I live on). Could anyone give me some tips on how to get bigger air? |

| If you lengthen the rope some more, you should get more time to build up speed before you hit the wake. Just keep a hard edge all the way through and don't hold back anything. Its gonna be a rough landing |

well a progressive cut is just as important as a hard cut. if you cut too had..you can just go far and not as high _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

look up the progressive edge tip on this site... but think about it. if ur not thinking about it, then ur prolly doing what everyone else did before they realized that edgeing all the way up the wake makes ur life 20x easier _________________ So we're drinkin' drinkin' drinkin' drinkin' Coca Coca Cola, I can feel it slide right on down down, oh right on down my throat. |

| 4-5 foot is not bad for your first year... think most inverts would be able to be completed with this type of height no? |

I get about 4-5 feet of air off of my wake and my boat is weighted over 1000# plus people and gear. It's plenty big to pull off all the tricks a beginner or intermediate would want. I've had a few friends try inverts but we aren't sucessful at them yet.
So without adding weight to change the shape of your wake, it's going to be hard to get more air, because it sounds like you're already getting a good pop by edging all the way to the wake.
Maybe you can get a board that has a 3-stage rocker to give you more pop off the wake. _________________ So, I've got that goin' for me...which is nice! |

people advance to inverts around 5 and 6 feet so 4-5 is not bad.
and Jama, what makes it ok to tell people that the want to hear???
BTW im not trying to be mean, briguy i would shorten the rope if i were you because the farther back the wake goes the more it starts to get washed. _________________ Wake Forest University |
