| Has anyone been to the KS cable park? I was just wondering if anyone has been there or has any info about it. I think it is located in Kansas, water temp? is it expensive to rent helmets and stuff? are there a lot of people there? when is the best time to go, etc. Any info not on their website would be appreciated. Thanks. |

The prices are:
$2 each for helmets and jackets for 2 hr
$4 each for helmets and jackets for all day
*If you bring your own jacket it must be CGA
The water temp is pretty nice right now as the weather has been pretty warm. Right now we are only open Sat. and Sun. 12-6. Make sure and call before you come to see if we are open. (913) 783-4300. Thanks. _________________ H.B.A |

Do you really enforce the CGA thing, I have a jp baller vest and was wondering. I had an aproved vest when I went to OWC and it sucked swiming in that thing back to shore so I bought a new vest while I was there. _________________ Treat life like a rental car |

As far as closing goes we are going to just have to see how things go with the weather, but it is best to just call check the message machine. Yes, we really do enforce the CGA rule. We were talking about an event the first of October, but again we are going to see how things go and it's best to just call and check. I'll try and keep you up to date in this thread about what the plans are for the rest of the season. Thanks. _________________ H.B.A |

The website is www.kcwatersports.com. And the only cable park in Canada is Beach Club which is located right out of Montreal. _________________ H.B.A |

Right now we have an A-Frame slider, a funbox, one large kicker, and a smaller kicker. There are also some barrells and such for wakeskates, etc. I will try to post some pictures for all of you soon. _________________ H.B.A |

Alex.......
And you wonder why companies go under....because everybody wants a hook up......Pay the full amount & keep the cable park around longer..... so you can visit it again.... |

Wazzy
First of all you don't know me, so don't judge me from a one sentance question on a discusssion board.
Let me give you a little background information about myself, I am a student, currently I have over 20G's in debt/student loans, and still have 3 more years of school to go. I am planning on driving approximatley 3 hours each way (in my old gas guzzling suburban), by myself, to ride for a few hours and rent the equipment, then drive back. I will figure I will spend at least a $100, for the day- now I am willing to do that, but if I could if I could save a few bones I would prefer to use a connection. I'm sorry.
About the company going under, (I may be wrong on this, please correct me if so(I've never been to a cable park)) I think whether there are 3 riders going around or ten the company's overhead is about the same. Throwing a bro deal to a rider shouldn't hurt them, as long as there are already people riding on the cable.
Best case scenario for the company, say they hook me up with a discount, they still make a profit off me (or at least break even), and I have a great time and save a little money.
Odds are I will tell everyone I know (this site, frineds at home/school, etc) what a great time I had and will go back next week. Hopefully after talking it up to all of my classmates, I have a suburban full of riders plus maybe some internet interest for the company.
Then again, maybe KCW won't reply and I might never go, we'll have to wait and see.
Wazzy - Sorry for the long reply, it kind of took off, out of control. Plus the response sounds kind of bitter and hostile, I assure you that wasn't my intent, I am new at writing responses on the internet and they all seem to have a negative denotation/tone, again I apologize, and what I said is just my opinion, so please don't take anything I write personally. Late. |

Alex21- I do appreciate the thread, but I can't give you a discount unless you have a group of 8 or more riders with you. Some people don't understand that it does take a lot of money to start a cable park and everything we make is not purely profit for us. I still am not sure if we are going to be open this weekend, so either call and check the message machine or I'll try to post something by the end of this week to let you know. _________________ H.B.A |

Alex...chill bro....I was just simply saying that too many people always want a hook up (either a sponsorship, something free, etc...). Please don't talk to me about debt, I am currently working on a 30 year morgage for $270,000, plus a car loan, plus all other expenses..... For me to drive to Kansas City this weekend, it will take me almost 8 hours (one way) in a gas hog blazer, plus admission to the cable park (if open this weekend??..hope to find out ASAP so I don't make the drive for no reason), plus food, lodging, etc.....I am just trying to say that everybody has either been in, or is still in your situation...... I didn't mean to jump down your throat about the discount thing, it's just one of my petpeeves (along w/ people asking about certain song in wakeboard videos, HELLO they are all listed at the end of the video in the credits!!!!) Sorry off on a tangent there.....
If KCW is open this weekend & we both make it down there, I'll buy you a beer so you know there are no hard feelings. |

Sorry guys, but we are going to be closed this weekend. With Surf Expo going on and some other things we are not going to be open. Look for our article in the new Alliance. _________________ H.B.A |
