I dont know ne thing bout the balance but in my opinion the Byerly rode very nice ... If it were me I would be gettin myself a new Byerly |

Hey wakeywakey
I had a 2001 model byerly and currently ride an '03 balance so maybe I can help a bit.
Firstly I definately prefer the balance. The byerly is a great board, I loved it when I had it the only thing is you have to ride it super aggressive ALL the time. This may be great for your style, but i found that sometimes I like to just cruise around laying down big carves and stuff and if you don't go flat out on the byerly it bucks and pings ya around a bit. Is a fair bit heavier than balance too.
The balance feels a bit looser out in the flats and stuff and can bounce around a bit when not on edge and isn't quite as poppy as the byerly but when ridden hard those curvy fins hold HARD, you can lean right back give it full herbs and go.
So yeah if you want something aggressive that seriously shoots you straight up go for byerly if you want something a bit more versatile and maybe a sit easier riding go for the balance.
If you have any more questions shoot us an email I'll be glad to help |

I have ridden the balance, and I loved it. I am a little bit partial though because I normally ride a trip, and the balance is just an upgraded trip. _________________ I'm steadily progressin' --- Swollen Members |

I agree with veddo, I am riding the 2002 balance, and I really like how it rides. I have never ridden the Byerly, but the balance is a board that is loose when you want it to be and aggressive when you want it to be. I also thought that the balance was a good board for soft landings. I really think that you will be happy with the balance if you get it. I also like the ability to make the balance into a different type of board as well. On really smooth days, I take off the center fins, and then I have a Subjekt type board. The balance is really a great board, not only for it's ride, but for its versatile abilities. _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |

Great pop. I reckon maybe a bit more controlled than the byerly, not quite as straight up and a bit more predictable.
The wakeboard scene here is great. It isn't super big but everyone is super friendly and most people know each other. We're finally getting a few wakeboard boats out on the water like malibus and nautiques which has helped heaps and a local pub has been doing wakeboard parties once a month where we can all hang out and meet new crew.
Definately come on over, you won't be disappointed. |
