Ok, so i have been wakeboarding behind my friends boat about 6-7 times and i am convinced that getting any air or clearing the wake behind her boat is really hard. She has a 19 foot bayliner with a 120 horse outboard motor and a ski bar on the back. I have seen video of myself and other people hitting the wake and we just seem to shoot straight across w/o alot of pop. You have to come screaming at the wake just to get some air. From the video it seems that i am doing everything to get good air(progressive cut, standing tall at the bottom of the wake, holding an edge up the wake, keeping the handle in tight) but still nothing. Could someone please help me out here. Thanks Smile

Hey suck my wake,

You don't have to come screaming at the wake - it's about progessive edge, loading the line, standing tall - it's a timing thing! I think if you've only ridden 6 or 7 times you need to be patient and keep at it! Start by only cutting out a little and then get your timing down just doing small pops letting the board land horizontally on the water within the wake. Get this down before trying for monster air!

BTW do you have a Spectra mainline?

I think it's a result of the shape of your wake. An I/O may not yield a great wakeboarding wake that gets you lots of air.
Do you have any weight or ballast in the boat that gives you a bigger wake? Also, work with the trim tabs to see if you can shape the wake better.

suck my wake, a spectra line is one with no stretch. When you go in the air it doesnt pop you forward, pulling you off axis.

try and putt some sand bags in the boat or some plastic rubber made containers fullll of water

vawakemonster, if you put 75 gallon plastic contaners in your boat put a towel or some smaller buckets in there because the water moves around and it water will soke your floor Exclamation

if you're looking for good weights for your boat...check out thepizzacritic his e-mail is astevers@metaltecsteel.com ....they are 50lb. bags....filled with steel shot in a water-tight plastic bag inside a vinal bag with handles...they're awsome & easy to move around...you should really check it out!
