Ok, Whenever I go HS wake to wake, about halfway I let go of the rope with my back hand, and it just kinda flings in the air like I'm waving to the boat. Then when I land, I'm all hunched over forwards like I'm bent over at the hips. Does this hurt my air? How to stop it besides some ducttape?! IS this a common problem with beginners? HELP
THanks thanks

letting go with your back hand will not hurt your height, as long as you a re pooping correctly off the wake (Standing tall and pushing the handle down to your hips with both hands). It will actually help you learn grabs, cause you will be used to having one hand on the rope. Just keep practicing...style comes with practice just like everything else in wakeboarding _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

I do the same thing..and I just grab the board whenever I just go with a straight air. you just have to learn how to hold the rope into your hip onehanded so that you do not get off balance and land funny or wreck _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

Like the others have said, you really want to focus on keeping the handle in close to your hips. It doesn't really matter if it is one hand or two on the handle. Generally, when the rope gets pulled away from you in the air and you are landing bent over, it is a very unstable position. If you don't land perfectly, you will have no place to go but down.
If you land with standing tall with the handle in at your hips, even if you don't land quite right, you can "give some rope back to the boat" by letting your arms out and/or even bending over a bit to generate yourself some slack and give you some time to regain your balance before the boat pulls you over.
Good luck.
