Hi everyone. I am new in this sport and I think that I will sticking to it. My question today is, is rope quality an important issue? Should I folk out some money and buy a quality rope or should I just stick with my $30 ski/watersport/wakeboard rope? Let's me know what do you think. Oh yeah, what do you recommend and how much do they cost? Thanks _________________ Wanna buy a House? I can help. |

I do not think that it makes too much difference until you start to jump and even then it only helps you out a bit..but as you get more advanced it is definitley something that is very VERY good to have. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

well it will cost u about $120 for a good rope and line, and as much as $250, put that's for like carbon fiber handles and such. accurate is a real good rope company, and just make sure that whatever u buy is non stretch material, like Spectra. good luck _________________ Laugh hard, it's a long way to the bank... |

it helps out way more than a little, the whole point of the rope is not to stretch, which is important because the physics behind a wake jump consist of heavy tension on the line, then a sudden release (the wake) if you have a normal rope, it will stretch, which bounces you around, not allowing you to fully "load" the line with tension _________________ finally got my boat!!!

whats weird is i was looking at some pro-model accurate lines and one of 'em was some chick rider and hers wasn't "no-stretch" it said "low-stretch" right on there. all the other ones were no stretch... i wonder why she would want the slight stretch? _________________ Laugh hard, it's a long way to the bank... |

| BleedingDead, that "chick rider" was Tara Hamilton...and it's just the packaging man. I seriously doubt that she uses a Poly-E line. |

Holy crap. Stretchy lines are a taboo! Don't even speak of them! _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |

Spectra or non-strech lines make a pretty big difference. If the rope streches you can't build up good line tension, so you can't get as much pop. Check ebay or find some good combo deals and a spectra rope and handle for about $100 or less. _________________ www.krookedminds.com

they DEFINITLEY help a lot..but as a newbie I do not believe that they are a necessity. I rode for a good two years before I got a nonstretch as did my buddies (and it makes a huge difference). but if you have the chance/money to get one it would be a very smart decision as you would just end up buying one in the future, and it owuld help you out with speeding up your progression. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |
