TS forsure, but a lot of people do HS first cause they don't know TS is easyer. It took me about 6 years to get HS FS 180s down solid. Maybe because I never tried them, but the reason I started landing them is cause i would double grab them and it would make me lean over my toes more. Weird story eh?

For some reason, I find it easier to land switch TS than switch HS if I'm going wake-to-wake. If I'm just going 1 wake, it's easier the other way around. Confused

Oh, yeah...unless I triple grab it. Then the BS shifty 180 off the double up is easiest. (NorthwestRider: What are you talking about?) Laughing

I'm gonna guess that Northwest's 6 years isn't as hardcore as one our 'our' single years...not to bash Northwest...but I've been "riding" for about 7 or 8 years...got up the first time...doing jumps...but it wasn't continuous, and it was behind a '77 Sea Ray...w/in the last two years...mainly this summer, I've progressed more than I ever could have imagined...that is because I rode at least 3 or 4 times a week on good water. Its a difference between living it, and having it as a hobby.

agfan12,

Yeah, it sucks not riding regularly. I've been riding 3 or 4 years but I've probably only been out 30-40 times total. I found that when you only wakeboard occasionally, you seem to forget anything you may have learned last time and you almost never try new stuff.

I know someone who has been riding at least 6 years, but only occasionally, and doesn't have a solid 180, so I can see how it is. The double grab helping the HS 180 comment makes no sense at all though.

Man I was wrong. I was betting myself that this would be one of those "which is easier a backroll or a tantrum?"

Anyway I think ts 180s are easiest landing switch hs isn't bad. You can just start out really small and work up to big w2w

colefooter, wakerider231, yup it took me six year to get them down. I could do them switch but not regular. I learned backrolls, tantrums, 360s, even hs roll2reverts before I started getting HS FS 180s down.

agfan12, Naw my last 2 seasons have been pretty hard core. Last year we wakeboarded til about now. Then we got the boat out on the water about March. Wakeboarded all summer long and I think I might be taking my last ride of the season tomorrow.... Sad. But before all this, season were pretty causal. And I wasn't too in to it. But ya I've been riding 6 years well, 7 next season, and I hated HS FS 180s cause I would always slip out, so this year i was getting back to the basics and this was one of the tricks that I had never really gotten down. Like I had only land it like twice in 6 years of riding. So I started trying double grab HS FS 180s and landed it first try. I guess that was all i needed cause now i can do them with out the double grab and they are easy now that i got the feeling down.

Well there's my wakeboarding history for you....^

salmon_tacos, It really helped me cause i would always slip out, and to do the double grab you have to grab the second grab like right before your on the water pretty much, so when you do melon to slob double grabs you have to be over the front of your board alot to get that last grab. So you are on your toes when you land and you don't slip out.

I could see the slob helping you out but I don't know why it would have to be preceeded by a melan. Don't take this the wrong way but why would you double grab a FS 180 anyway? I could see a double grab with a handle pass, where you're grabbing with different hands but I'd rather see a super-long single grab than see one hand shooting around touching different parts of the board.

salmon_tacos, I just thought they looked cool so I wanted to learn them. I didn't care about doing normal grab 180s and when I tried them i would fall cause I grabbed melon. But ya i know what you mean about doing one super long grab. But if you make sure you really grab it good i think they can look super cool.
