I work with a guy that lives out on a hoseboat on Shasta. Just for something to think about, I was wondering...what all would be needed to do something like that? What certain licenses? docking fees? things like that. Aside from the cost of the boat, what other expenses would have to be looked for?

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, since it's not really wakeboard related...it's more boat related, and the costs of the whole boat/living situation on the lake.

Neither a permitted facility nor any houseboat, cabin cruiser,
or other vessel moored thereto shall be used as a place of habitation
or as a full or part-time residence or in any manner which
gives the appearance of converting the public property, on which
the facility is located, to private use.

I know people that live on their boats year-round and have no problems. They have a slip rent and pay for the power they use and cable tv. Other than that, they pay for nothing else.

Yeah, tons of people do that in the Stockton area. The most expensive slips here are 300 a month. Nice payment if you ask me...

agfan12, you beat me to it. Doesn't seem like something that they could even enforce. Right when the clock hits 30 day's wouldn't you just go pay your moorage, then head back out?

Yet there are no laws regarding how long you can leave a broken down piece of junk on the side of the road.

read between the lines here- "public property" I'd be willing to bet that a rented boat slip isnt considerd public use.
