easiest way i found, is if they both have a network card, just get a piece of network cable and plug one end into one computer, and the other end into the other. If both of the computers are running xp, they will recogonize eachother, and you will be able to transfer them that way in minutes.

Ryan_m, No you would need a crossover cable and that is slow as balls.

Get firewire Smile that is 4.5 times faster then networking or get firewire 800. 8 times faster.

Worst comes to worst, you can transfer the files onto a DVD-RW (or whatever the hell they're called) and I think those will hold something like 4gb of files. Just do that with two of those and you got it. Of course, it will take an extremely long time, but it's just a suggestion.

Mister C, thats what i diid, it only took 10 min to burn it and no more than 10 to transfer all the songs from the dvd-r to the other computer.

or you can use your ipod as a storage device. go into itunes, and click on one of the menus (forgot which one) and click consolidate songs. (all your songs need to be in the same folder). then go to the folder that was consolidated and drag that over onto your ipod that should show up in mycomputer or windows explorer. then transfer it from the ipod to the new computer.

Jibsta, no crossover cable required. I used just normal network cable. It worked and i transfered 15 gigs in under 10 minutes.

The Headless Chicken, got it right on!!!! here how:
1.)right click your ipod.
2.)select tools.
3.)select folder options. this will take you to the control panel where you then select folder options again.
4.)select the view tab.
5.)under "hidden files and folder", change "Do not show hidden files and folders" to "show hidden files and folders."
6.) now the hidden files are visible.

You can get a 20 foot crossover cable for 20 bucks at any gaming place. They are cheap.

Wakeboarddrumma, YOu could also just make the cable for like 2.50

a crossover cable is the exact same as a regular network cable but 2 wires inside swithc places at each end.

jibsta, have you tried it? If you have, you might relize it is possible. I am 100 percent positive, it was network cable, because i was the one who crimped the ends onto it.

Ryan_m, First off all you dont need to try it if you understand how nic's work you would know you need a a crossover cable, the fact that you crimped it leads me to belive you created a crossover cable by mistake.

I transferred 12gb with three dvd+Rs. Didn't take that long at all. Just click to burn and walk away. Come back later and it's done. Easy as cake.
