Hey Guys im from the University of South Australia Waterski & Wakeboard Club and unfortunatly i have something very sad to tell.

If you are in AUSTRALIA especially in SA
and you see some punk in a 2002 Malibu Wakesetter LXi - Bright orange and white, you cant miss it it is the only one in SA.
It was stolen 2 days ago along with all our clubs gear, ropes, boards, ski bisket, kneeboards, slalom skis, doubles, club banner, they even took the bloody message white board. F*#kin B@st@rds.

Stolen at night out of a fully locked boat shed at Whitesands Waterski/Caravan Park on the Murray River in South Australia.

Please if you hear anything see anything let the cops know in your state and post me back here just so i know. Thanks, dont do anything stupid. Just call the cops and let them know you have seen a Bright Orange 2002 Malibu Wakesetter LXi with full wakeboard tower and rack which was reported stolen on the 4th of August.

Thank GOD its all insured but we still dont look like seeing replacement boat or gear. Only net worth of the gear which will put us back in the stone age as far as how far we had come with our gear and club.

Hey thats great - so long as they didn't trash it Neutral

Hopefully they will have stolen it with the intention to sell it.. so you may find they looked after it fine.

Thats so horrible that someone would do that. Glad the boat was found and hopefully can say the same about all your gear. Best of luck.

That sucks. I hate thieves with a passion, and I'm glad you got your boat back. Any word yet on the condition of your boat/gear?

As i mentioned earlier our boat and all of the equipment was stolen last
wednesday. Here's the new news. Our boat was recovered but it had been stripped of everything and anything of value. (ski tower, cd player, speakers, even our tool boxes etc). It was found near monaro zoo in the scrub (its a free range zoo in SA which our river flows through). It is in pretty bad shape though. Maybe you can send out the message to your skiing mates to keep an eye out. Remember contact the cops if you know anything. It's a damn shame its enough to make a grown man cry. Feels like a big hole has been cut in you stomach. B@st@rds. Dirty rotten bloody scoundrels.

PS, next time your out on the water just think how lucky you are. Remember, keep it safe and pay the little extra for the "replacement policy" insurance not "current value policy" insurance. We were targeted by pros, they are out there, dont let it happen to you.

No the keys were not in it.
It was locked up in a shed.
It was in a deticated waterski cravan park.
It just happens the owner was away that day.
It also happens that the security gate to the lockups were left open.
Im not one to throw blame.
However i do believe that the security procedures and checks of that boat lock up should be addressed.
As such, we may move to a new park.
But as we are a club it is going to take along time to get the money then fix our boat. We wont see it in the water useable for the club for at least 3 or 4 months at the soonest. Hope we get it before summer.

Dragonlady8, No kidding, there is basically nothing but the shell of the boat left. Its devistating. Sad

colefooter, yeah we can order new keys through the dealer. But right now there is no point, there is no steering wheel, or throttle to drive the boat. On top of that there is not a complete engine to kick over.

The only positive is they missed the prop & wedge system (i believe at this stage) and left the wiring in the boat.

Damn -- Spin Dizzy --, Make me feel sick to hear that. it sucks so much. But i guess it can be fixed.. its just the cost and time it will take i guess.

But at least theres a chance of finding the dirty scums though... They will have to advertise that tower and those parts somewhere... Even if they make it to the states, a tower removed off an almost new Wakeboard boat always raises suspision.

Also.. everything on the boat must have been branded (like the steering wheel) So i guess so long as you watch ebay and keep some heads up you may catch them yet. While you are on Ebay maybe run a search for "Baseball bats" and "Colt" for when you do find them.

Can we get a full list of all the parts you can think of with a description? like what color were the seats trimmed in (if they were taken). and what tower was it? etc..

Good luck with the fix up.

Man I cannot stand thieves. That is rediculous.

Someone stole the wheels off my car over 2 weeks ago and I am still dealing with it. Just one big headache.
I would say just try to move on the best that you can. I hope they catch them though.

country cops man, stupid with a capital S. These guys make Chief Wiggam look smart.
Never printed the lockup just went right up and opened the door with their hands, no gloves. I nearly flipped when i heard that. Didn't print the boat hull either. If they were pros they prob had records thus would have made this really easy to catch em. But no that would have been to easy.

For sure im keeping my eye on ebay like a halk. Also got the word out to all the malibu dealers in Australia. Plus every boat dealer in South Australia (my home state). Cops never even called Mabilu Australia. Talk about a bunch of dum @sses.

No cop is gonna waste their time fingerprinting a vandalized boat. It's just not worth it. Good luck getting everything back/replaced though, it's just a bad situation.

Hey guys, well its good news and bad news.
The boat has gone back to elite and all the little decals are like new again. YAY
Were waiting on a new tower to ship over from the states right now.
About 4-5 weeks on that one. Sad But better late than never right.
AND ALL OF OUR GEAR WILL BE REPLACED NEW!!!!!!!!!
Fricken Hip Hip Horay!!!!!!!!!!
I am VERY VERY Chuffed about that.
New boards, bindings, ropes, skis, handles, bisket, kneeboards, doubles. The lot.
Although it wont all be as good as it was.
We should break even on it. The new boards and skis should be better than the ones we had. Although i expect to loose out on the kneeboard and bisket. But who knows right.
Thanks to anyone who helped, either in support or sympathy it made it easier but it still sucks when it happens. Worrying about insurance is HARD TIMES.
But now its ONLY GOOD TIMES. Laughing Very Happy Mr. Green
