Wisconsin riders, come together and bitch about this summers (or lack their of) weather. WHAT A JOKE!! All you guys that live south are so lucky. We had 5, count them 5, days of weather over 85 degrees this year. Of course this is the year I dropped a bundle on a new SSV (Which I absolutly love) and barely got to use the damn thing. There really is no point to this thread just wanted to squak about the joke of summer that we had this year.

Tell me about it. My parents are in WI right now and they complain about the weather every time I talk to them on the phone. I think they will be moving to Texas very soon...better weather AND better BBQ.

Kyle95, you don't have to move, just get a good drysuit and some flece to go under. Then you can board until shizzle starts to freeze. I won't say anything about the slight sun burn that I have right now due to the high 90 degree temps we have been having over here in Nor-Cal.... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Taco's I don't know what you are talking about BETTER BBQ. I am the General manager of a Famous Daves BBQ and I just talked to a table 10 minutes ago(I am at work) from Texas and told me that our Brisket and Ribs were the best they have ever had! You might wonder what a guy from Wisconsin knows about BBQ but I grew up in KC Missouri.

I took a trip up there to visit family (central WI) and decided to haul up the new boat... mistake. We went out like 3-4 times in 10 days. Not to mention the overcrowded and wind chop-laden lakes. And staying up there through the coldest winter season is NUTS!!

Up here in Saskatchewan the weather hasn't been any better. I don't know if we've had any days much more than 75 degrees in August. Mostly been around 65 degrees, rainy and cold. Has to be the coldest summer on record. Right now it's 50 degrees and raining.

Kyle95,

I looked at your profile. That's why I mentioned it! Twisted Evil Haha. Anyway, I can explain your little experiment. The people you talked to were obviously suffering from some kind of hypothermia-induced delusional state because they went from Texas to Wisconsin. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Just kidding. Arguing about BBQ is like arguing about women. It's all personal preference. I could name at least 7 BBQ places in Austin that I personally like better than Famous Dave's but, of course, I generally prefer dry BBQ to wet BBQ and beef to pork, so I am obviously biased (as is every person).

Ok Tacos you got a good point, BBQ is very much like that. That is why people are so passionate about the food. My favorite place to go is called Marty's BBQ, it's a little mom and pop place in KC. Daves is good for the masses, it gives people a good sample of REAL BBQ, especially in Wisconsin. Peace.

Hey Kyle I know the weather is AWFUL, but its still fun to go out. I'll try to board til mid Sept or so if I can. Moving to MN for college doesnt help much either, should have picked somewhere alittle further south.

Kyle, ever need 1-2 more riders let me know. (I could understand if you only wanted people >21 but me and my friend are ok guys - were cool about it)

You need to move to Utah! Best kept secret - if its a good year in may you can Snowboard in the morning and Wakeboard in the afternoon. At the worst you get to Board all year long. Snowboard winters and wakeboard summers. If I followed this I would probably be alot better than I am. Very Happy Just giving you some crap. Sorry about your summer I hope it gets better.

Kyle95: I agree this was the worst summer to buy a boat! In Oklahoma it has been cooler and rained more this summer than ever before! Not to mention the piece of crap boat I bought. Brand new Tige 22i this year. I think I have taken more trips to the shop than to the lake!!! Not KIDDING! Think positive at least you got a good boat!!

Yup, it's been a cool summer. I've still been on the water quite a bit, but this just isn't right. We were going to ride two weeks ago, but decided to go to the bar instead because it was 57 degrees... In August...

You're looking at this all wrong.

I live in Michigan, the weather hasn't been good here either. 70 degrees might mean go to the bar for you, but to me it means the lake is ALL MINE because nobody will be out there.

At 70 I'm on the lake any time. At 57 in October, I'm on the lake. At 57 in August, I'm in the bar. Mr. Green

I'd take cooler weather over those Red Alert Weather days in Texas any day of the week. Throw in clay brown water full of Red Racers, Black Racers, Water Mocasions, and snapping turtle...no thanks!

I was born in Texas City Texas and raised on Lake Lewisville. Twain said it best, "If I had a choice of owning all of Texas or living in hell, I'd choose hell." No offense-I am a former Texan

Anything short of frozen water, driving rain, or enough wind to make whitecaps should not prevent you from being on the water.

Or are you a "resort boater?"--85 F. Air Temp, Sunshine, 85 F. water temp, 120' water clarity, pure glass all day and G'String clad women to deliver you a frosted adult beverage to your boat complete with little pieces of fruit and an umberella.

.....man that sounds good, I have to get off the prescription medications

I was up on lake michigan for a week with a buddy, (this was in the greenbay area..not the city the actual bay) and we boarded everyday behind his 15' whaler..sucky wake but goood times, it was so fun. we just went and hid from the wind behind an island and had glass the whole day. Very Happy

KYLE, yes, big state. But he was from Appleton and also had an inboard tow boat (I've forgotten the make). I thought there was a decent chance you knew him. Big state, but small towns.

Sick_Air_Crash, I've heard Utah is the absolute worst state to live in. The entire state is run by the Morman church. You have to drive 300 miles to get alcohol which is only sold by the government and they only take cash.

Twain wasn't around when there was air conditioning. I can't imagine living in the south without it. The only time I'm outside is walking to my car from my apt, walking in the covered parking from work to my building, and on the boat when 90-100 degree temp is perfect.

I don't really like BBQ so I could care less about that. My favorite is Spring Creek BBQ. I can't stand fatty meats.

Kyle95, I worked at Famous Daves here in omaha and I know you should say it is the best due to the fact that you work there but I'd have to say that daves doesn't have anything that is better than anywhere else. I've had better ribs somewhere, better shredded pork somewhere, better etc. somewhere. It is a good place to go to get good food though.

What kills me about Famous Daves is the clientel. Enormous people come in there and want a booth which they can't fit in and then butter there already 40 grams of fat cornbread muffin.

Kyle... try to look at the positive side of things... less hours on the boat, cooler weather means you aren't sweating your a$$ off, less WALLYs when the weather isn't perfect = better water conditions for you, plus maybe this means we will actually get some snow this winter & can snowboard before the end of December!!!!!
And if you are ever in the Poynette area, let me know, I'll help you put hours on that SSV.

Dont get me wrong I am a big fan of my drysuit and I am not afraid of cold water it. Lightning is the thing that kind of concerns me. Ya know considering the BIG METAL TOWER!!! We went in March this year and the water was 43 degrees.
