Hi All,
I am a beginner and I need a little help. I would like to get a lot more air in my jumps. I'm fairly certain I'm not edging hard enough (or properly). I just started doing wake to wake grabs this morning. I am happy with my progress but I want to get a lot higher so I can do more tricks/different grabs. Can anyone who's good please take a look at this video (link below) and give some advice? Any advice is welcome.

Here is some info that may help:

- I'm 6'5" , 205lbs
- Boat: '04 Centurion Sport Bowrider
- Weight: 2 Fat Sac Side Seats weighing 600 lbs each(we have tried a few different spots....any advice on placing these would be great, too) + a few people
- Board '04 Hyperlite 141 Premier

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hey:
This is my first season where I really learned how to pop and it makes a huge difference. I checked out the video and it looks like your cut is not too bad. You edge out far enough, and start your cut well. The closer you get to the wake the harder you should be cutting. Think of where you start from as being 0%. as you start to cut, you want to cut harder and harder so that when you get to the wake you'll be at 100%. It increases the closer you get to the wake. But I can see your problem, and it just takes practice to fix. When you get to the bottom of the wake, you want to straighten your legs a bit and brings your hips a little closer to the handle. and hold your cut all the way through the wake. What this does is allows the rope to do the work. Right now you are absorbing the wake a little by having your knees bent. If you straighten them at the wake (standing tall) and keep the handle kow once in the air, then I think that you will see results pretty quickly. Once you get the rythum, you'll wonder how you did it the other way.

Keep me posted.
good luck.

it looks like you're flattening out a little bit before you hit the wake. it's hard to do, but try keeping your edge.

oh yeah, and pretty much everything graphik said, too. Mr. Green

you are cutting out to slow, you waste a lot of time getting out, if you get out faster and just in one movement it will help you to get a better timming, if you get out slow and little by little you waste a lot of energy and its hard to cut out enough, so try to do it faster and solid, then, once you are out, wait until the boat naturally pulls you in and start your progressive edge etc etc, also try to put more preassure on your heels to gain more speed and line tension
