| Hey there, I was finally able to convince the wife that I needed the Perfect Pass system. I now would like to know the difference between the Wakeboard Pro and the basic Recreational Cruise sysytem. In reviewing the Perfect Pass website, the only difference I could see is that the Pro model offers several more options, such as water temp and speed readout. I believe the Cruise system is around $670.00 and the Pro runs $1100.00. Do both systems work the same way as far as pulling goes or is there a considerable differance in that aspect as well? I have a 2003 Centurian Hurricane V-Drive and use it for the family to wakeboard. Thanks for the feedback. |

If you read what is says on their website you'll quickly recognise that Cruise is exclusively rpm based. WB Pro offers both paddle wheel and rpm based speed control.
rpm control isn't great for low speeds and hence isn't great for wakeboarding and especially wakesurfing.
For wakeboarding you need Wakeboard Pro. That's why they give it that name!
I don't understand what you mean by differences in pulling between the systems. Your engine does the pulling - PP just controls the engine throttle position to reach and maintain a given engine rpm or a given over-the-water speed as measured by the paddlewheel.
The need for the paddlewheel is that boat speed isn't directly proportional to rpm as factors like rider weight, weight in the boat, wind and current all affect boat speed at a given rpm. A heavily weighted boat will run a lot slower than an empty boat at the same rpm. _________________ Jeff |

You will get your money back at resale, easily. For your boat and application, the WBP is the one you need. I can do better on the PP WBP price. rider@boarditup.com _________________ Original Boarder from 1983
