im looking to start doing photography right now, and was wondering whats a good camera to start out on(price affordable) would be...either that or a video camera..thnx

Depends on what you want for performance. there are alot of Digital SLR's out on the market right now and they are starting to come down in price. I personally have a Nikon D-100, but the Canon 10D is an equivalent camera. You will also find other models by both of these manufactures that are cheaper than the previously mentioned models but have just as many features.

If you are looking for a digital video camera - I have a Panasonic PV-GS120. The camera is great for a small package. It has 3CCD's on it and the picture quality is great!!!!. the price on that was about $700. There are also alot of good camera's that you can use for video as well. Many people rave about the Canon Elura models, but they only have 1 CCD. Other models that have the 3 CCD capability will cost you about $1500 or more.
