I've been told I/O's are no good for wakeboarding, is this because they create a washy wake?
Also what is the better shape hull for wake size, flat or v?

a flat hull is heaps better for a decent wake, have a look under any wakeboard specific boat, most of them will have about 6ft of flat hull at the back.
i'm not too sure on the I/O for wakeboardin???

I don't agrre with anyone that says i/o's aren't good for boarding. Look at this wake of my bros I/O and you tell me what you think. I know plenty of peops on this site and on my lake with I/O's and they can launch the same tricks as most people on inboards.

I feel inboards are better in a waybecause of the way they handle and the wakes are a little cleaner. Also they hold their speed much better but perfect pass works great on I/O's now also. My bro's boat holds a constant speed great. You just always are adjusting the trim to keep the wake right on in turns and what not so it's a little trickier for someone to drive.

IMO i/o's aren't bad at all but an inboard is a little better. If you got the cash go with an inboard if not you'll be just as happy with an i/o.

Here's a pic of his wake. The guy in that pic is like 6'1". This has barely any whitewash at 70ft

Boats going 21.5mph according to the pp and there is about 1400lbs in there. 2 v-drive sacs in the trunk compartments, 400lbs ballast in the center tank and a full sac in the bow 3/4 full. Plus the driver and passenger is about 1400.

Although small. This I/O wake sufficed last season. as my hunger for biger tricks grew so does the need for bigger wake, or at least a boat that can handle it. this pic is of a 20 cuddie cobia with a 4 banger...

i/o wakes for life:

If this boat was weighted properly it should throw a pretty good wake. It only has 350 lbs.

My i/o is for sale for 4 grand

Sean

It was the first I/O wake board specific boat. It came with ballast, tower, pp,racks and tower speakers. It's a smokercraft 210Alante Orbit it's 21ft with a 102 beam.Thing does like 60mph when it's not weighted. It was sweet for him cause he's not all into wakeboarding 100% of the time like me. He still likes to cruise and tube (I know tubers Suck) but on the lake he's on the wind and the weekend traffic can make it one hell of a day in the afternoon to ride. He also has family, freinds, and little kids out on it all the time. Enough of that sorry to take up some time.
