Looking for the person who had the post on the old site that put blue rope lights in their cooler and Orange rope lights along the side storage. I want to do the same and was looking for where to get the materials and how to set it up!

I did the rope lighting. Haven't done the cooler yet, though I'm going to.

Got the rope lights from Wal-mart for $8 for 15'. I just zip tied the lights to existing wiring where I could. Elsewhere I use small screws and the supplied plastic clips that came with the lights. Wired it into an extra acc. switch on the dash.

Two 15' stands did my boat perfectly, but I bought an extra in case one goes out.

As for the cooler light, Wal-mart has some cool small neon tubes I plan to use...

kmoyer23.....it was me that wrote that.
We did'nt use rope lighting though. We used 12" neons...blue in the ice chest, and orange inside of the boat. We got the lights from Kragen auto parts I think??? I'll have to check....and the switches, fuses, and wiring came from our local boatshop....which I work at. Hope this helps?? Wink

these pictures suck but here they are, I tried to lighten them a little.

The effect doesn't really come off well in pictures...

These are just a couple, I was able to illuminate every part of my boat storage with the 2 strands.

Maybe this will give you some idea...maybe not.

Looks pretty sweet, do these rope lights run on DC power? I've never really looked for them, but I remember seeing them in AC christmas light kinda thing.

Can you get them in different colors?
