Maybe change your stance..
also absorb landing with your knees.. if you don't it goes strait to the back.
has happened to me a few times, not fun .. |

yea wen i first started riding i had the exact same problem.....ur lower back gets real sore and u gotta just lay for like 10 minutes until u feel alright...........i talked 2 a doc about it and he said that i was just developing muscle there....u usually dont use those muscles much and wakeboarding strains em alot so ull get used 2 it iwth time......also getting ur stance right helps......if ur riding crouched over like ur on a surfboard itll make ur back foot hurt and probably helps cause the lower back thing 2, remember 2 stand tall knees kinda bent and keep the handle at ur hips.....thatll help 2....good luck _________________ "My wife waxed my back once....

maybe its your stance maybe its the way your landing or riding..try some adjustments maybe like the binding placement or faster boat speed. Or maybe your back is in need to get checked _________________ www.jetpilot.com |

| I had that happen when i first started too... I think that it is that you are using a new muscle you don't normally use in a regular day, but what helped me alot is when i got more comfortable i leaned back more while riding which eased the pressure on the area. Keep riding, it will go away in no time. |

| Pop a few advil or pain killers when it starts to hurt. Also try one of those heat pack things on the hurting area of your muscles. |

| I too had the same problem. Try to spread out your stance some. That helped me, also by just riding some more will help you muscles. |

| no don't spread the stance, it can be caused by too wide of a stance. or you aren't standing up enough. |

Sometimes I take a Motrin before I go out, that usually takes the edge off for me. Everyone else is right though, if it is just soreness and not actually sever pain, and it goes away in a couple of days, then you are just developing muscles that you have not used up to this point. If it is a sever pain, and it does not go away when you stop boarding, or lasts for more then 4 days or so, then you should see a doc. As you board more and more, you will develop your stance to a point that will be most comfortable for you. Just don't be afraid to try new things (move the bindings around, rope position etc... ) and it will come naturally... _________________ "There are two things I cannot stand in this world, people who are intolerant of other peoples cultures, and the Dutch" |

| Try stretching too. I know your not getting ready to run a race or anything but it seems to help. Make sure to stretch out your legs, in particular your hamstrings. If they are tight they make your back tight which in turn....sucks.... The other posts are right about building muscle too, the more you do it the less it hurts everytime you go out..... |

You forgot one thing, it really helps to be warmed up first. Just like if you were to go play hockey or run a race, if you begin to stretch with cold muscles you could hurt yourself just as bad as if you just went and rode. Stretching does help though, and your warm-up could be a 1-2 minute jog just to get some circulation. _________________ YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW!!!! |
