|
|
Just upgraded my ride from an 03 Centurion Hurricane to a New 04 Cyclone, and let me just say that this boat is awesome. Wake is way different than the Hurricane's it can get as big as you want it. Drives even more solid which I thought was impossible seeing as how the hurricane drives solid.
Special thanks to Brian up at Rockford Marine....couldn't be happier and he is first class. They definately know how to take care of their customers up there for sure.
Here are some pics its kinda bare don't have the racks and other things on there those will be up in a few days.

That (and the lightening) were boats I highly considered - seemed to me, that the cyclone, Lightening offered the best of both world (when it comes to Skiing & Riding)
Nice boat r3612, enjoy her

FRG,, My wife and I loved the color on you SAN That pastel blue was sweet..
As for the wake on the Cyclone It's tansition/ramp is pretty similar to an x-2 just a bit smaller/shorter, but the lip is pretty similar to a SAN cause its hard and kicks you straight up. so it's a cross between a X-2 and a SAN IMO.
The main difference between this boat (Cyclone) and the Hurricane is that the Hurricane's wake maxed out at a certain point. It was very clean and steep but when you sack it out it tends to only take so much and could only get so big never really getting to be a contender to the big three. Don't get me wrong it's (hurricane) still a great boat with a clean wake but it just doesn't have the capabilities to get monsterous if you want to ever go for a fully loaded session. I learned all my tricks behind the Hurricane and all my buddies who pretty much do every trick could do all there's behind the Hurricane so it was still a great wake just lacking a little on the size...your kinda handcuffed in that dept.
The Cyclone on the other hand can take all you can throw at it and it definately rivals the big three in my mind. We rode with just factory ballast 8 peops and people were going off behind this thing (not me unfortunatel cause I'm not that good ) I probably could have used a little in the nose as everyone was sitting in the cockpit...it was just starting to curl right beind the rider at 22mph and 75ft. The day before we sacked it out with about 400lbs on top of each of the hard tanks and a 350 in the nose and 4 peops and it was rediculous. We only rode 2 days behind it and these were the first 2 days so we're still trying to get it dialed in, but I must say for every day riding the stock 3-tanks and 3 people give it a sweet clean all the way to 80ft wake which is pefect for me. As I stated I'm not that good. I would say I'm an intermediate rider. I have 2 solid inverts and a 3rd in the making if I could just hang on soi this is plenty for me but it's definatel bigger than the Hurricane's and has a different shape with the same exact weight config.
Just my .02
Kris

Kris I new you would love it with the right weight configuration!
We did a clinic with the Cyclone with 2 people up front
6 in the back the center tank full and a fat sac on both sides of the engine
I am just a beginner but the wake was scary big
Congratulations!

The Cyclone definately rides even more solid than the Hurricane hard to believe cause that thing rides smooth as h#$%, but the deep V on the Cyclone tears up the d-ups So solid and chop forget about it no rattle no flex...cuts through like butter. The main difference is that the Cyclone leans more (rolls more) in the turns, but that is due to the deep v on the short 20ft platform. This thing drives like a sports car.
Wake Pimp check your PM for the details.

Although I love my Hurricane I have been really considering upgrading to an Avalanche. I almost have my wife convinced on why we NEED an Avalanche. I have heard the rides on the Cyclone and Avalanche are awesome. Anyway awesome boat post some pics of the wake.

Finally got some pics of the wake. Not the best but give's you an idea. Also the bot in the water. I took out the hard tanks and put in sacs for more weight 500lbs each instead of the 300each with the tanks. 23mph at 75ft here are my buddies and me.

Where did you get the pads for the guidepoles on your trailer, were they custom or did they come with it? I have been looking everywhere for a "centurion" set but can't seem to find them.

Wake surfing wake is big and with the adjustable wake plate you can really make it custom. Clears the wash I'll try and get some pics. Definately get some use out of it. Not as much as I like since my wife is pregnant, but nonetheless any use is great use got 40hrs on her in just under 2 months
Wake is aboput knee high on a 6ft person with three people in the boat and the factory 900lbs. Pictures our deceiving for sure I have to get some better pics to back it up for sure
