I think you jump on them.... Usually you work on tricks and get the feel for them without killing yourself _________________ Cadillac Crew Productions

good, helpful post colefooter. thats a first.
the thing about working on trampolines is though that you need to setup your board with some foam or something soft at the tips for 2 reasons:
a normal wakeboard will puncture your tramp
and when you land on a solid surface, you are at a very high risk of hitting the wakeboard apon your head...that hurts like a b!tch
i am not a big fan of tramps because i find that it hurts less landing in the water than spraining/pulling something landing on a tramp upside down, or even off the tramp...
do not try to use the tramp to really LEARN new tricks, but to practice the ones you are at least slightly familiar with. when you have no idea what being upside down feels like, its better to get slapped by the water than to snap your neck on a trampoline.
BE CAREFUL! |

If you want to learn what it feels like to be upside down the best trick to start with is a backflip without the rope.
Have someone there on the tramp with you. You should stand in the middle of the trampoline and the person on the trampoline with you should be standing next to you perpendicular.
Have them put there right hand on your back and there left hand on your stomach a little higher than there right hand.
Both of you should start jumping together and when your ready tell the perosn your going to do the back flip and they will help you rotate the back flip. Keep doing this until you get a good feel for the back flip. Then try it by your self having the other person spot you the same way but not touching you.
This is the first invert i learned and everything is based off it. _________________ Go BIG or Go HOME!!!

I bought a trampoline for 2 reasons
1 to get fit.
2 to learn backflips and handle passes.
At first I just tried spins (1s and 3s) as they are safe. Then one morning I plucked up enough courage to try a back flip and I bottled out half way round, landed on my neck and it made an unplesent noise. That hurt for about 2 days and I nearly scared myself to death with worry and reading trampoline injury topics on the net didn't help - every serious injury on a trampoline is either neck or spine related - look at Christopher Reeves, he fell off a horse.
Later I tried some forward flips and landed on my back which is fairly safe. I then tried to do another backflip and rather than just go over straight, I would do an off axis flip with my head out to one side. this gave me confidence to go straight over. At first I landed on my knees but soon made it right round onto my feet.
I have noticed that the muscles used in the legs are the same as wakeboarding and this is a definate advantage using the trampoline. A lot of the pros will say try stuff on a tramp and you will nail it down fairly soon afterwards on the water.
Important message - trampoline can be very dangerous! Never let children attempt a flip forwards or backwards. _________________ Wakeboarding is so Kool in Ireland! |

haha when i was younger like 8 or 9 my friend had a trampoline and we were trying front flips and stuff and we were getting pretty good and then i tryed the one where you jump straight up and then flip when your realy high so you jump up then flip instead of just flipping and i landed right on my neck like perfectly that i just bounced back up and landed on the same spot again. if youlay on your back and then put your legs straight up so that just your shoulders are touching the floor i was likle that but on my neck more and it hurt. what was i thinking |

| For a backflip, instead of using jeff_moto's method of spotting, this might be a little safer. Take two towels and put one of them in front of them and one behind them(waist height), and twist the ends of them together, with a spotter on each side. Then you can actually catch the person without them even hitting the trampoline. Worked with my little sister, she did a backflip on her own, 1st try. |
