Ok I've posted my vid before, but I posted it on another thread in GWD and I was told that I put too much weight on my back foot. I was wondering if anyone else could watch my vid in my gallery and comment on that. I so then I could defiantely fix this and maybe finally start progressing with my riding. Thanks. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

| looks like you just don't hold a progressive edge. you flatten off as you reach the wake. rear foot heavy is just really your riding style. The only thing this can do is make you lean back on wake jumps, but it won't effect a backroll because you have to rock to your back foot anyways. |

simland, i watched that video, i didn't really see a big deal with riding a lot on your back foot. Maybe a little, but i don't think its a serious style. You were really close on that backroll too, have you landed it yet?
The only thing i can think of is what wakeboarder 360 said, maybe work on your progressive edge.
Also, this might make some painful raley crashes if you really do ride heavy on your back foot. Atleast its not your front foot, that makes raleys even worse lol. |

haha, well I'll try to put less weight and yea I have a bad progressive edge. This I do know. Lately (after moving to a spectra rope and a premier handle and moving out from 55 feet to 60/70) I've hade more board control but my progressive edge is still mediocre. I have the tendency to get pulled forward when I leave the wake and I am having a hard time keeping that rope into my hips. I don't get nearly as much air as I should be able to with my set up. When I try to just practice keeping my edge through the wake I leave the wake and feel like I am going to pike (where your legs go stiff straight out in front you). I have no idea what the heck I am doing wrong. I am not exactly weak but I have a hard time keeping the rope in when I make my edge. I've thought about taking off my fins. This might help me with edging, but any help is appreciated. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

progressive edge is the key too everything...ur speed needs too greaten while you are getting closer to the wake....stand up and lock ur legs once your off the wake....keep the handle as low as possible and u should be all right _________________ Visit www.myspace.com/alecperkins to listen to my music! |

simland, you don't have to keep the handle "in" just keep the line tight. For some other stuff keeping it in will help, but for wakejumps just avoid getting slack in the rope.
If its really that hard, keep working at it. The new set up might throw you off for a while, but it pays off in the end. |

Yesterday I force my self to go back to step one and work on the fundamentals. I started out 10 feet and practiced getting a good progressive edge. From 10 feet out I was getting jsut as much air as usual and clearing the wake with good distance. I was really impressed. I did notice that as I continued my arms got tired and my jumps deteriorated. I also worked on riding switch. I got that down even more and it is starting to become almost comfortable. I tried a heelside jump and almost took it w2w on accident. Working on basics isn't the most exciting thing but progression really gets you pumped and I know this will help and pay off greatly in the end. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

its hard to do simland, but I did the same thing (going back to working on your p. edge) last week. I wasn't happy with my jumps so I took a day and just jumped, jumped, jumped till my arms fell off. No grabs, no 180s, just jumps. Its hard to do when everyone else in the boat is doing other stuff, but it will payoff in the long run! _________________ 1989 Supra Comp TS6M, 06 GLI for haulin'.

hey simland, I was the person that made the comment. and today while I was out riding I really focused on looking at how boarders with and around me were riding. I found that you weren't really riding heavy from my view, it is just a little farther back than I was used to seeing. I am sorry, and that pregressive edge is definitley the key, I just got that back at the beginning of the season. It helps immensley _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

Well at time sI do get back but that's usually when initating a hard edge, like msotly out into the flats. But your comment did spark me to pay more attention to what I am doing with me feet. Also it helped my switch riding. _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects
