I am going to Tampa this weekend to check out a 94 Prostar with a tower, new interior, cd player, 4 blade prop, and sacs for $14,900 they said the trailor was bad, and we would probly have them lower the price since we would need to buy a new trailor.
Anyone know alot about these boats?
how do they preform??
When weighted will they put out a nice wake? comparable to that of an Xstar (in shape mosrtly).
Also hows the room in this boat??
Can i fit sacs in lockers, how should i weight out the boat? i Was thinking fat seat and 600 in the front??

Thanks
Alex

couldnt tell you, but i got mine from tarpon springs and my trailer is stuff, so knock that price down for real, you might wanna see how much a new trailer will cost to help you figure what you will give him

That boat has can produce a great wake, I'm pretty sure it is the sanme hull as the x-7 or one of the X-series boats. I have a 94 prostar 190, great boat. That's a great price, how many hours on it?

A 94 205 can throw a great wake. It is not the same as an X7, which is based off of the new 190 hull but with an open bow. The 94 205 I have ridden was pigged out, but I think a fat seat in the back and 300-400 in the front should do just fine.

cool, i went to go look at the boat 2day, everything look ok...
But two things before i make my final decision...
how bad is a stress crack ?? and what does it look like??
how much for a new trailor?

The interior of this boat is very nice
newly redone...
the speakers and all that suck.
comes with 2 fat sacs and 1 pump
tower looks well installed, cept for one lil crap in a weld (very small).
trailor has rust, to point where it would be needing replacment ...
Lemme know what yall think?? im knew to buying boats... and dealers in the LAND O LAKES area, i know LAND O LAKES Dealer is near by, anyone have a website or something??

Thanks
Alex

I replaced a trailer. It ran about $3,200 out the door for really good a dual axle trailer with spare tire, surge brakes & swing-away tongue. You could save some cash by buying less features.

I hope everything works out, we are going to repaire the trailor a lil and see if it needs to be completly replaced...

$3,200 is WAY too much heh
i was thinkin $1000 maybe?? single axel, brakes... galvanized thats about it ... lights too Smile

Yeah thats a great boat, I think '94 is the first year they put the 351 EFI engine in there, before '94 they used the Ford 351 and cold starts can be a pain b/c of the carb. Also ask how new the battery is, you will def want to get a new battery if its aged, and maybe talk him into taking that off the final price.

ProStar 205's can hold tons of weight, I have a friend that does 300 in the back, 2x600 beside the engine, plus people weight in the bow, its a HUGE clean wake at decent speeds, like 20-22mph.
