My faceplate got wet and I need a new one (if thats possible). Dose anybody have any experience and/or website addresses I could go to.
I found one on e-bay but the auction is for six more days and the guy dosen't know if it even works (it was a lost and found item).
He said he would end the auction early for the right price, but I'm not sure what that would be. |

Thanks Lucky1,
I called them and they can't get one in till September and then it will be a $110.00
I'll get a new receiver before I pay that and there's no way I'd go without some tunes till then anyways.
I'm going to see what kind of deal I can strike up with this e-bay guy. _________________ same sh*t, different shorts |

mcfatty, same problemo with my bud's stereo. He had a Sony CDX-F5000, busted up the faceplate beyond repair. Sony wanted 100 bones for it <-- Screw that!
For 130 bucks (plus tax&ship) he got the CDX-F5500. The upgrade got him MP3, 3 Preouts, 1 Line-level in (iPod anyone?), as well as a host of other nifty features. Best part was it uses the same wiring harness as the old one, so it was slide out, unplug, plug in, slide in.
The total was about 154$ after all the BS. Got it in 2 days UPS ground... _________________

mcfatty,
They told me the same thing when I lost mine. It was back ordered and a 3 month wait. No way I could go 3 months without a car stereo. I called the Alpine number (not the parts place) and asked to speak to a manager. I asked if he could have a local Alpine dealer give me a faceplate out of their stock immediately and the dealer would receive the backordered plate. While he was checking if that was possible he found a spare face plate to send me. I still had to pay for it through Pacific Coast Parts though.
Good Luck |
