| i am having a problem standing up at the start. I almost get to the point where i can stand and i just fall. ill tell you how i am trying to get up now: i sit in the water with my knees really close to my chest and the rope in between my legs, as the boat starts moving i keep my knees bent and i lean back while my board is sideways. When i get to the point where i should turn i fall. Should i let go with one hand before i try to turn of after i am turned, should i try to lean back more, and should i try to wait a little longer before i turn? Please help me. Thanks |

you're doing it right... My guess is that you should try to hold the board with the bottom of the board against the boat a little longer. It almost has to feel like you cant hold it a second more because of the friction in the water. Also remember to angle the board slightly when pulled.
Still, you might be doing it 100% correct, and you just need some more training... Try and try again until you get up _________________ /Alva

The key here is patience. If you try and force the process you'll just fall to the side or faceplant. Make sure to keep your weight back on your heels and as the boat starts to pull you up ALL the way out of the water move the board sideways into your stance. Letting go with one hand is not necessary, and just remember not to rush things. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

just as the other s have said, wait to plane on top of the water before you do too much, if you dont then you will sink like you said. also, i learned by being dragged a little ways to get used to the angle the board needs to be in. it helped alot, and now i can get up with ease every time. _________________ "Reality continues to ruin my life."

wait until you are standing up and the board is on top of the water before you turn, keep both hands on the handle, and you weight on your back leg. _________________ Some female cows have horns, but you wouldn't really know anything about that now would you? |

Like everyone has said..patience is key...you really can't wait too long, that boat can pull you around the whole lake with you leaning back and the board sideways, so don't be afraid to wait.
Try getting the driver to just pull you around plowing water to you get comfortable just chilling out and waiting for the boat to pull you..you don't need to get up, the boat gets you up.. |

| You may want to try starting with holding you handle over your lead foot... Thats how i was taught and it gets you basically started coming out angled... Anyways it may help get you started. |
