I just made an offer on a 99' sport nautique with the gt-40. The offer is pending a successful Test drive and a 2nd evaluation of the boat.
My question is does anyone know of any issues I should specifically check for on a 1999 sport or on the GT-40 engine.

The PCM GT-40 engine is a marinized 351 Ford block (not a 302). It's rated by PCM at 310 HP. That PCM power plant had a few minor problems with the ECM in the earlier years of production, but your '99 should be fine. Just test drive the boat in the conditions you expect to use it - be sure the steering is tight and precise and that you don't feel any vibrations. The '99 Sport hull throws a great wake when properly loaded....
How many hours on the boat and where has it been used and stored? |
