hey everyone - i'm looking for help during my offseason. i live up north where we have winter and won't be able to wakeboard. at 20 yrs i'm a pretty small girl and am looking to stay in wb shape. do you think snowboarding will help? also, it might sound retarded but if i wanted to work out to keep muscle for next summer, what types of things should i do? any help would be cool.

Any kind of regular work out would be good for boarding. Arms, shoulders, back and legs are probably the most important.
As for snowboarding during the winter, it will probably help. I do it just to be doing something during the winter. I also have an Indo Board (balance board) to play on when I'm board.

I'm also 20 and a pretty small girl.

I do three different kinds of setups, and pushups for my work out. Right now I'm only doing 25 of each a day, 'cause I got out of it for a while. But when I was in highschool I did 200 each a day. I wanted to start jogging so my legs would have a workout too, but my neighbour hood isn't really good for that.

Squats and lunges are always good for the lower body, you can tone up a bit by adding a little weight, maybe just the bar or some 10 lb dumbells if your worried about bulking.

Cardio always helps too. Will also aid in longer run times with less fatigue when you get back out after the winter.

Snowboarding will absolutely help. You use a lot of the same muscles in snowboarding as you do in wakeboarding, and it will help you to develop your balance and carving techniques as well.
